Main Street Mount Vernon Thanks Community for a Fabulous First Friday Season
This season the community shared a summer full of June jubilation, shops & stars & stripes, dog days and first responders celebrations. New activities made their debuts; Farm Friday which showcased our local agriculture at each First Friday, Hidden Spaces tours and yard games, to name a few; and some old favorites made their return, the Cruise-In Car Show, face painting, superheroes, and far too many to list here! Main Street Mount Vernon also introduced the new First Responders Friday in September, which closed the season out by honoring and showing the community support for ALL first responders in our community, in our county, in our state and beyond.
“None of this could be possible without all of our many generous donors and volunteers,” says Carrie Hyman, Executive Director of Main Street Mount Vernon. “This community is so supportive and present and without its support, we couldn’t be creating these great times of togetherness. Main Street Mount Vernon is excited to continue celebrating this community with each of you!”
Main Street Mount Vernon is already hard at work developing new themes for next year’s First Friday season, but keep an eye out for more Main Street Mount Vernon activities to come this fall and winter!
